Kulturnyheterna sände tisdagen den 5 februari kl. 19.00 ett reportage från Stockholm Furniture Fair 2013. I inslaget kan man bland annat se Kulturnyheternas reporter Dennis Dahlqvist spela på konstverket Conservatory for Discarded Pianos som konstnärsduon GORA&BANDOLIN ställer ut under mässan i Björns Trädgård mellan den 5-9 februari.

Min Trädgård - Staffanstorps Konsthall

"MINA TIDIGASTE MINNEN HAR EN MYCKET TYDLIG KOPPLING TILL ALLT DET SOM FINNS UTOMHUS. Till upplevelser av landskapets fukt och torrhet, hetta och kyla. Växter, djur och småkryp som fanns där, ljud och dofter. Minnen som vaknar till liv först vid ett igenkännande, som en inbyggd kompass för en specifik hemvist."

Min Trädgård är en utställning som pågick på Staffanstorps Konsthall under sommaren och hösten 2012. Utställningen gav besökaren en möjlighet att kliva in i Monikas egen trädgård där skisser vävs samman med små texter med iakttagelser och minnen kopplade till trädgården. Utställningen avslutades den 14 oktober men lever fortfarande vidare i bokform, tryckts i 200 exklusiva exemplar.

Monika Gora i samarbete med Karlstad Kommun bjuder in till allmän tävling om ett bildkonstverk på en cykelväg. Konstverket eller konstverken kommer att utföras med markeringsmassa och skulle kunna beskrivas som en horisontell teckning eller målning som man beträder och cyklar rakt över.

Tävlingen riktar sig till den som arbetar konstnärligt inom vitt skilda områden, från bildkonst och arkitektur till design.

IGS Hamburg

The International Garden Show in Hamburg is opening on the 26th of April and we are exhited to show you one a part of our garden at the show. It is a new product, a garden slab that can be placed in groups or as a solitaire. It is manufactured by GH-form in Denmark and this picture is taken just after production, hence the light grey color - it will turn a bit darker. We'll release more information about our garden and participation at the show soon and we hope to see you there on the opening!

Havnepromenaden Oslo

GORA art&landscape just got back from Oslo where we are working in a team together with Gullik Gulliksen och Kristine Jensens tegnestue, in a parallel assignment regarding a 9km long walk along Oslos harbour. The area is rather complex, with a variation of different typologies, stretching from container storages, by the opera house, to ports for cruise ships. Min Trädgård

Monikas utställning 'Min trädgård' som visats på Staffanstorps Konsthall sedan i somras är nu slut. Publikationen 'Min Trädgård', som gavs ut i samband med utställningen, finns att läsa online på Issuu. Texterna ska nu översättas till tyska och engelska för att kunna visas i andra sammanhang.

Køge havn

This weekend it is the last oportunity to visit the exhibition 'Urban Play' in Køge, Denmark. Here's a shot we took last week when a group of children visited the site, more videos are available on YouTube.

Conservatory for Discarded Pianos. Urban Play, Køge

Pianos are unwanted in our time. They seem too big, too brown, too square for our white washed interiors. First they are being thrown out from the real estate agent’s advertisements. Then they get conditional stays in attics and basements. Soon no one would even like to pay the rent for temporary storing them. Any young girl or boy who starts to play the piano soon receives a modern electric one for birthday. Pianos are garbage in our time. Maybe there will be other times! Until then, we would like to make you aware of their precarious situation, by making this conservatory for discarded pianos. Please honour them by playing a last tune.

Gora/Bandolin

Among other artists and architects, from different parts of the world, Gunilla Bandolin and Monika Gora will take part in the exhibition Urban Play in Sødre Havn in Køge. Welcome to the opening of the exhibition on Friday afternoon/evening, the 4th of May, and explore the work Conservatory for Discarded Pianos by Bandolin and Gora as well the rest of the artworks on place!

The exhibition will be in Køge harbour from the 4th of May until the 15th of Septembre 2012. See Urban Play homepage for further information.

Klappa Hästen 2011

Earlier this autum Monika Gora participated at Helsingborg city's "Konst på stan" with her project Pet the horse in a new edition. During the first week in October the citizens of Helsingborg had the opportunity to acend the statue of Magnus Stenbock on Stortorget in central Helsingborg.
